At Brough, near Dunnet, on the southern coastline of the Pentland Firth there is the potential for a marine energy site. The ferry from Gills Bay is 5 minutes drive away. There is access to a slipway in Brough Bay from along paved track which was the originally the service when the Dunnet Head lighthouse was being built.
